WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED IN FASHION THIS SUMMER
The fashion industry moves at the speed of light and the first summer after the pandemic was definitely engraved with moments that will define the 2022 chapter. Here are some key events (besides Brad Pitt that wore a skirt on the red carpet) that left a mark on fashion during the past months:

ISSEY MIYAKE DIED AT 84

The fashion world was shaken by the passing of the iconic Japanese designer. A true innovator of shapes and fabric use, he is recognized for his emblematic pleats, clothing that allows freedom of movement, combining technology, art, and design. He has collaborated with Irving Penn, architects and contributed to the globalization of Japanese fashion, paving the way for names such as Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo. He was among the first Japanese designers to showcase a collection in Paris, while his fashion shows were purely poetic, metaphorical, and theatrical, allowing models to jump, dance, and bounce together with his avant-garde fabric shapes.

THE PERFECT GANG: NICOLE KIDMAN, MIUCCIA PRADA, THE AMOUAGE FRAGRANCE, AND MANY MORE

The Perfect magazine is launching its annual awards recognizing emerging and established contemporary culture pioneers. For the inaugural edition of the ‘Perfect Awards’, the magazine is presenting 23 different covers, showcasing each individual winner through statement editorials: Miuccia Prada (Lifetime Achievements), Glenn Martens (Perfect Fashion), the 55-year-old force of beauty and style, Nicole Kidman as the ‘Perfect Icon’, dressed in Glenn’s sleek Diesel and many more.

IRONICALLY & ICONIC, KATE MOSS IS THE NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF (DIET) COKE

Describing her as a “global icon and style visionary”, Diet Coke officially appointed Kate Moss as Creative Director on the 1st of July 2022. Since then, she has already designed 4 limited edition cans for her first campaign entitled ‘Love What You Love’. Being inspired by the strong association of the Coca-Cola brand with the fashion industry, Kate Moss reflected on her favorite fashion moments from the past decades, “dressing” her cans in lace, denim, or animal print. We can definitely say that Kate lives up to her recent statement, “I’ve always loved coke” and we’ll do to, as long as she is at the helm.

YEEZY X GAP ENGINEERED BY BALENCIAGA IS COMING TO AN END

Kanye’s Yeezy GAP engineered by Balenciaga is coming to an end as the currently available pieces are from the last drop of the most hyped collaboration of 2022. Demna has recently stated that his implication is over, as his challenge was to give West “a starting point” and “set a solid foundation for Ye’s aesthetic”. Now there is an unfilled spot for a new possible designer affiliation for YEEZY X GAP. Wouldn’t it be hilarious to be engineered by Kim’s SKIMS?

ZEGNA PARTNERSHIP WITH FC. REAL MADRID

The fashion industry is transferring one of its top players to a leading sports club. The luxury menswear label Zegna is partnering up with the Spanish football club, Real Madrid. Starting the 2022-2023 season, players of both football and basketball teams will sport timeless Zegna designs for their “travelwear”. FC Barcelona would better call Loro Piana or they might lose the fashion game outside the football field.
